Edinburgh meetup Wednesday 19th May

Postby cabalamat » Mon May 10, 2010 7:23 am

The next Scottish Pirate meetup will be in Edinburgh on Wednesday the 19th of May from 7pm onwards.

The venue, as before, will be The Standing Order at 62-66 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LR, near to Waverley railway station. Google map url: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?oe=utf-8& ... 36135&z=15

If anyone needs to contact me, for directions etc, my phone number is 07930 631730.

Items on the agenda will include:

* how we did in the general election, what we did right, what we could have done better, what lessons were learned.

* looking to the future, we need to start planning for the Scottish parliamentary and local elections next year, and the possibility of another UK general election soon

I'll be there!

Also, I hear good things about a possible student group at Napier uni, are any pirates from Napier palnning on coming along? That would be cool.

Cheers,

Finlay

More detailed agenda items (I'll be bringing a printed agenda to the meeting) -- I'd be grateful if others could suggest additions to this list:

# the recent general election

## what we did right
## what we could have done better
## any other observations

# Scottish parliamentary elections

## what region(s) should we concentrate our resources in?

# Scottish local elections

# the next UK general election -- hopefully by the 19th we'll have a better idea of when this might be and what voting system will be in use

# structure and level of autonomy of the Scottish regional party

I might be there, schedule depending. I might have a few others with me, either from ENU, QMU, or HW.

I would be unable to make it but I will almost certainly plan to start attending any future glasgow meetups. Scottish Elections are a genuinely exciting prospect for our party.

The post at the top of the thread includes my phone number. When you get there, phone me, and I'll tell you what bit of the pub we're in (it's a big pub).

Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow!
